What is Holistic Coaching?

Holistic coaching can have many definitions, but at Hope Anew it simply means that we coach the whole person. We add in various elements (art, nature, environment, wellbeing) in the coaching process to help tap into your entire being. Why? Because living wholeheartedly requires an alignment of all aspects of your self.  Our current emphasis is with nature and horses, as Jamie is a certified Equine Assisted Coaching Practitioner through Natural Lifemanship. Read more below on the coaching process and why we give you the option to include horses in your sessions.

What to Expect

If therapy is to get people from suffering to baseline, coaching is to help people get from baseline to thriving. But here’s the thing- you are the expert of your own life. So if you want to pay someone to tell you what to do, if you want a “fix-all” solution, you’ll have to keep searching. As your life coach, I am the creative guide, the idea generator, the hope-holder, the space maker. I look to you as expert and simply try to ask the right questions to draw out your own inner wisdom. I will lead you in practices that will help tap into that inner voice and give optional assignments for further exploration in between sessions. But ultimately, this is an organic process that will be very much determined by how much you’re willing to put into it.

Why Include Horses in the Coaching Process

Horses are wonderful partners in the coaching process. At Hope Anew, you have the choice to include horses in your coaching session, and here are a few reasons why you may want to do that.

1. Horses are social beings and have the same capacity for connection in their brains that we do as humans. We can experience the same positive chemical reactions in connection with a horse as we do connecting with a human.

2. Horses are honest and do not know how to put on masks like we do. They invite us to be our true selves with them, because anything other than authenticity will hinder the felt safety in the relationship.

3. Horses only live in the present moment and invite us to do the same. You are invited to be instead of do. What better way to get in touch with your true self?
